Hookup not working with mySql database hosted on SiteGround

I have added the details of my mySql database that is hosted with SiteGround. It cannot connect to the database. The database is the latest version of mySql.

I get the folloiwng error:

Error: Unable to connect to host. Check connection details.

I have triple checked all connection details. I have also tried the password reset trick you guys posted and that does not work either.

any idea? Is there something about SiteGround that would not allow me to connect?

We're not aware of any issues with connecting to SiteGround in general.

Yes I tried the troubleshooting steps and also added the remote access permissons to the database.
